At Conscious Sound, we are obsessed with giving you a massive array of high-quality effects options for your productions. We are constantly expanding our 'sonic pallette' with the latest innovative audio processing tools, to give your mixes distinction.

This page highlights a small selection of the effects available at Conscious Sound.

In the reverb catagory - we utilize several first rate tools for adding spacial depth and simulating real-world (or other-world) acoustical spaces.

LexiVerb delivers the legendary 'Lexicon Sound'. It's breathtakingly smooth reverb algorithms are the same used in the world's top studios. Each algorithm is displayed as a wire diagram, allowing us to design reverbs for you quickly and efficiently.

Another top name in the industry, TC Electronic's reverb algorithms deliver outstanding diffusion, dense tails and realistic room impressions. A graphic overview of all parameters ensures we always get exactly the reverberation you want, including Churches, Halls, Stages, Clubs, Plates - in six room shapes: Hall, Fan, Prism, HorseShoe, Small and Club.

On the occasion when an authentic spring reverb is just the thing, our vintage stereo spring reverb does the job nicely. These rare reverbs were made in the late '70s by Sound Workshop, who were later bought by Otari.

While we're on the subject of vintage, it's worth mentioning our moogerfooger processors - authentic analog designs from electronic music legend Bob Moog - painstakingly modeled to deliver unbelievably fat and resonant '60's and '70's sounds for your mix. Pictured here is the 12-stage phaser. We also have the Ring Modulator and Lowpass Filter.

Also in the vintage effects department we have Echo Farm - for incredibly authentic vintage echo with the digital advantages of automation and tempo matching.

As any seasoned engineer can attest, the use of effects is a subtle artform which requires a keen understanding of many different relationships - pitch, rhythm, dynamics, tone, imaging, depth, texture, emotion, and character.

However, there are also times when subtlety is inappropriate and what's most important is to warp people's minds.

Sound Blender is one of many tools and special techniques we use for all of your mind warping needs.

If you're an electric guitar player, you understand the all-important art of getting the right tone. Electric guitar is actually among the more difficult instruments to record. Of particular significance is the amplifier - each of which has a distinctive color and feel that is every bit as much an instrument as the guitar that plugs into it. We utilizea variety of vintage amp modeling tools to bring the warmth and feel of classic tube guitar amps to our digital workspace. A good example is Amp Farm, which we use to pull up specific models of sought-after, classic amplifiers in your session. These meticulously designed digital models are created by taking exacting electronic measurements of the real thing, then mapping the resulting data into the digital algorithm for incredibly authentic sounding results.

One approach that we've found works well is to record the traditional mic'ed amp method, but also record a direct guitar track, which allows us to tweak your amp sound right up to the final mix. It includes TubeTone Amp Models developed from extensive studies of thirteen classic amps: 1959 Fender Bassman, 1965 Fender Twin, 1964 Fender Deluxe, 1964 Marshall JTM 45, 1968 Marshall Plexi, 1990 Marshall JCM 800, 1960 Vox AC 30, 1963 Vox AC 30 with top-boost,1994 Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Trem-overb combo, 1995 Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier head, 1989 Soldano Super Lead Overdrive head, 1987 Soldano X88R Preamp, and 1996 Matchless Chieftain. Not to mention, a huge selection of cabinets to choose from.

You can instantly compare different amps, cabinets, and "mic placements" while listening to guitar that you already played! This kind of flexibility allows you to find a great tone that you love in a matter of minutes! Don't even think about how much work and expense it would take to do this with real amps - even if you could find them.

Another fun effect is called "Lo-Fi" which allows us to deliberately worsen the sound quality of a track in many interesting ways to achieve extremely cool results.

Keep in mind, this page represents only a small sampling of the huge variety of specialized sound processing tools you have available when working with Conscious Sound.
We can create tripped-out psychadellic effects, choruses, flanges, tremelos, auto-panning, harmonizing, formant shaping, time compression and expansion, ring modulation, many shades of distortion, bass synthesis, harmonic restoration, vocoding, delays, pitch shifting, synchronized filter effects, etc. Or we can create beautiful and subtle effects which enhance and sweeten your tracks. Chances are, if it has to do with sound, and you can imagine it, we can do it for you!

But more importantly, we have in-depth knowlege and experience using these kinds of tools in ways they weren't even designed for! As artists and composers, years of tinkering and experimentation have taught us many special techniques and tricks. By carefully combining specific tools and production methods, and applying our passion and understanding of many genres of music, we can elevate your vision to the height of artistic excellence.

In fact, our ongoing goal is to support you and your artistic vision in every way possible. Whether you just need a skilled engineer to get the job done, or are looking for professional mixing or production, our objective is to simply get the results you want - fast!

Remember, we want to share our technical expertise with you. If there is something specific you need accomplished that isn't addressed in our website, please zap us an email.
