Knobs? Who needs 'em?

Sure they're nostalgic and fun. Yes, they feel nice to the touch. But are they really helping you get your project done faster? Are you interested in your engineer having a pleasant tactile experience or are you interested in results?

Inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation, we retrofitted our G4-based Digital Workspace with large, touch-sensitive LCD panels.

This allows your engineer to instantly recall the "hardware" configuration best suited for the task at hand - to quickly and non-destructively see and adjust the smallest details of any track. This "at a glance" access to multiple layers of control parameters would otherwise require thousands of additional knobs and faders!

With a touch, we can zoom in on a programmed grouping of tracks - for examples the drums or vocals. We can then make instant pitch and rhythm corrections, modify tone, depth, dynamic behavior, virtual acoustic properties and effects, etc.

These layers are the key to managing a complex 64-track project without the need for physical moving faders. In addition, every individual setup and mixdown for each of your songs is organized and stored in our system for instant and accurate recall at any time. At any time during your project, we can supply you with a digital archive of all your data for backup purposes.

Conscious Sound's sixty-four track digital audio recording facility was designed for optimum sound quality for all musical genre's from pure acoustic to pure electronic. Flexibility, speed and exceptional ergonomics are also primary concerns. Our analog-to-digital signal path and digital workspace - are integrated noiselessly using the highest quality custom cabling.
CSP Production Suite A - diagram Conscious Sound's main production suite was designed for creative comfort and acoustical accuracy. The control room has graceful symmetry, with all control surfaces in easy reach. This is somewhat of a departure from conventional control room design, in order to provide an efficient work flow. The studio is spacious enough to accommodate almost any live band or ensemble, and there is also an isolation chamber with a stone floor.
Our secondary production suite provides supplemental ProTools - based digital production, editing, mixing, mastering and web sound implementation.

Our ongoing aim at Conscious Sound is to make the latest tools work for you quickly and efficiently.

While this powerful technology cannot replace an enginner's knowledge of acoustical principles, experience and production skills, it makes the application of these disciplines easier and faster. This translates to better results in less time.
