Conscious Sound Productions offers an extraordinary creative environment designed to nourish artistic inspiration. Our studio is ideally suited for independent bands and artists who need a sophisticated but affordable facility with an uncompromising service philosophy.

We can easily accomodate bands of all genres, and are able to get today's most marketable sounds (if desired). In addition to expertise in all phases of recording traditional setups including drums, bass, guitars and vocals, we also have extensive experience with horns (solo and sections), all kinds of percussion, strings and woodwinds (both solo and ensemble), piano and keyboards, ethnic instruments, and more.

We utilize the latest and best technology for your album and demo productions, and more importantly, we have the talent and experience necessary to put it to work for you quickly and effectively. (In fact, we are so confident in our technical mastery, we offer a comprehensive money back guarantee, which protects your investment both from technical malfunction and engineering error!)

From ultra high quality professional voice overs and sound effects to the most complex modern music productions, we have the tools, and more importantly the experience and expertise neccessary to create extraordinary works of art from concept to completion. This allows an extreme level of flexibility - every detail remains fluid and changable right up to the final mix!

One of the first things new clients notice about Conscious Sound is our tendancy to work as efficiently as possible using the latest tools and inventing new techniques. A good example is our approach to mixing. Most people think of the 'mixing phase' as a separate process that happens after the 'tracking phase' of a project. However, one of the advantages of a highly flexible and non-distructive digital environment is the ability to begin mixing at the outset of the recording process rather than at the end. This includes effects, EQ and dynamics, even automation. We maintain an organized library of effects, EQ and dynamics settings instantly available to use as templates. We have streamlined this process to give our clients the powerful advantage of being able to hear a mix coming together from the outset - which often inspires new ideas and creative redirection, not to mention faster results.

At Conscious Sound, we understand that equipment is only one part of what it takes to create extraordinary recordings. Our approach to engineering is based on a deep sensitivity to the artistic process, and we will do everything possible to facilitate your creative "flow". Here are some other examples "the little extras" we always provide to make your projects more productive and enjoyable:

We are always amazed to hear stories of studios providing dull or mono headphone mixes. We believe nice headphone mixes are crucial for inspiring the best performances, and go to great lengths to provide comfortable headphones and rich stereo mixes including effects and EQ for your monitoring needs at each stage of your tracking - your engineer will put as much care into continuously monitoring your headphone mix as they will at getting optimal levels recorded for every track.

We have worked hard to streamline a system of organizing each project which our clients take for granted. One example is our song indexing. As soon as you begin working on a song, your engineer will immediately begin setting up a computerized song index. Two markers are recorded for each intro, verse, chorus etc. - one marker for the playback point, and one for the pre-roll point for a punch in. While you won't even be aware this is happening, you will notice an extremely fast and smooth session - with your engineer "magically" jumping to any point in the song - which translates to considerable cost savings for you.

Thanks to our powerful digital network and automation, we routinely create pristine reference mixes on CD, including EQs, effects, and even a mastering/sweetening process after every session! This allows you to evaluate your works-in-progress in a context that closely approximates a finished mix! This "extra touch" goes a long way toward helping you accurately evaluate your project's progress from home.

Sometimes your project may have special requirements. We offer several special services for your studio recording including vintage instrument rentals, equipment rentals, session musican and voice talent referrals (many with demos), and even gormet food catering!

If you have a sound recording project in the works, please let us know about you! We offer free consultations which enable you to visit the studio and listen to samples of our work, and for us to discuss your project's needs in detail.
